Current Employment:  

In my professional life, I am a 31 year veteran employee of the Town of Greenwich and currently serve as the full time Program/ Fitness Coordinator at the Town’s Senior Center. I also hold professional current certifications in group fitness, aqua aerobics, lifeguarding, CPR, Director of Activities, and Mental Health First Aide Training. Due to my years in the field, l am also a lifelong member of the CT Assoc. of Therapeutic Recreation Directors (CATRD).

Town of Fairfield Parks and Recreation Dept., Hall Brooke Hospital, Southport Manor CC.

Education:

Product of the Fairfield Public School system and High Honors Graduate from HCC in 1983 with an A.S. Degree in Human Services. Served as a Student Tutor in American Government and Italian while at HCC. After graduation from HCC, I was excited to he appointed to HCC’s “College Relocation Study Committee” by then President Dr. Vincent Darnowski which realized its current location. Furthered studies in the field of Psychology at SCSU and Fairfield University, earning that Institution’s “Student of the Month” in 2011 for a 3.8 GPA.

Community Involvement:

Upon moving to Trumbull, our sons Alexander and William were born in 1989 and 1993, and became involved with the Town’s Youth Sports program. Upon completion of their elementary school education, I was humbled to be honored with the prestigious “Tomasko Award” in 2004 from the DFS PTA for outstanding volunteer service. My community activities also include volunteering as a CCD Catechist, Special Events Volunteer at St. Theresa R/C Church from 1997 to 2007, Junior Achievement “Classroom Consultant” from 1994 to 2007, and annual “Trumbull Read Aloud”, “Sensitivity/Democracy Day”/ “Invention Convention”, “Celebration of the Arts” and “Democracy Day” volunteer from 1997 to the present I was also honored to have participated in Frenchtown Elementary School’s first-ever 2009 “Sensitivity Day”. Upon my sons entering THS, I served as the Trumbull High School Touchdown Club “Field Sign Fundraising Chair” and “Senior Night Coordinator”, raising nearly $40,000 for uniform refurbishment and Senior College Scholarships over a 6 year time period. From 2007 to 2015, I was an active Executive Board member of Trumbull’s “Business Education Initiative” (BEI) whose mission is to promote the relationship between business and education through mini-grant funding that support endeavors in Trumbull schools K through 12.

Government Involvement:

My Town-wide community service began in 2004 when I was appointed to Trumbull’s then
Board of Recreation. While serving, I helped to Co-Chair the Board’s Finance Sub Committee and participated in the planning and implementation of seasonal Town youth and adult programming. I also helped to launch the town’s state-of-the-art “Teen Center” at Indian Ledge Park. In 2007, 1 successfully ran for Trumbull’s Town Council in District 1. For 3 out of my 4 terms, I served as the Trumbull Town Council Vice Chairman, and Chairman of the busy Legislation and Administration Committee.

Professional Memberships:

Director of Activities, and Mental Health First Aide Training. Due to my years in the
programming field, lam also a lifelong member of the CT Assoc. of Therapeutic Recreation
Directors (CATRD).

Personal Information:

Upon moving to Trumbull, our sons Alexander and William were born in 1989 and 1993, and my husband and I became involved with the Town’s Youth Baseball, Lacrosse, Football and Basketball Sports programs. While my sons were in the TPS System, I painted various murals and performed an array of artistic endeavors at DFS and THS. l am very cognizant of proper nutrition, exercise daily, and am a horse owner an avid rider. I value my husband of 32 years, family and friends and enjoy serving my community to the best of my ability.

Medical Symbol for health moduleEach pupil, before initial enrollment in the Trumbull Public Schools shall have had a health assessment. In addition, each pupil enrolled in Trumbull Public Schools shall have a health assessment at least once in each three year interval: in grade three, in grade six, and in grade nine.
