RSS
Many websites today use a technology referred to as "RSS". Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an XML-based format for content distribution. Many sites offers several RSS feeds for use in news readers and Web logs (blogs). These feeds include headlines, summaries and links back to the main site for the full article. RSS feeds are free.
Why RSS?
The Trumbull High School Website sends a feed whenever important information has been added to the site. This includes important messages from Dr. Tremaglio, emergency information and school closings. Spamming has made joining email notifications a problem. RSS, comes to your computer - like email, but with no address involved. Once you subscribe to a "feed", the information comes to your computer. You do need a RSS reader.
