POST PROM - Parents We Need Your Help!
The THS PTSA is busy planning our biggest event - the Post Prom, which will be held on June 7th-8th at Hillcrest Middle School. We need many parents at all grade levels to help prepare and fundraise for this event! Please Support the Trumbull High PTSA:
It's not too late to complete and return the PTSA membership form. Your membership supports many valuable programs and initiatives such as the Practice SAT/ACT, Fashion Show, Scholarships, Mini-grants, Post Prom, Staff Appreciation events and ACE Foundation, among others. Members will also be included in the PTSA email notification system where you will receive important information regarding both PTSA and THS student/parent events.
At Trumbull High School, please note we are a PTSA – the “S” stands for students. Not only is being a part of the PTSA a valuable addition to a student’s resume, it also allows for our students to voice their ideas, opinions and concerns regarding the high school and the PTSA.
Scheduled meetings for the remainder of the year are: January 14th, March 11th, and May 13th. All meetings will be held in the Senior Lounge, 7:00-8:30 pm.
Parents, students and community members are all welcome! Please join us to hear about the events we have planned this year for our students and parents, participate in discussions regarding curriculum, the ongoing renovation, and budget ramifications, hear from various guest speakers, and more.
2013-2014 Education Budget Proposal:
The Board of Education has approved a +4.56% increase over the current year's budget. The BOE will submit their budget to the First Selectman, w/o 1/7, who will review the budget and make his own recommendations as to approving, reducing or increasing the proposed budget. Your input and involvement in this process is extremely important. Scholarship Information:
The CT PTSA and Nutmeg Statewide are offering Four Scholarship opportunities to Seniors who are planning on majoring in Education in college. Applications are available in the College & Career Center. Applications should be completed and returned by March 22.
TRUMBULL HIGH SCHOOL PTSA HELP WANTED:
We are still in need of filling a few very important Committee Chair positions: Senior Class Post Prom, Hospitality and Publicity.
Volunteers are also needed to help our chairs run our school events. Please download the Volunteer Sign-Up Form, check off your areas of interest and return at your earliest convenience. The PTSA's Practice SAT, sponsored by the Princeton Review, will be held on Saturday, February 2, 8:00 am-12:15 pm @ THS. Information will be sent home shortly. Senior Girls’ Powder Puff Football Game:
The annual senior girls’ Powder Puff football game has been rescheduled for a date TBD in March. It’s a great evening where our senior girls play an exciting game of flag football on the varsity field. Ticket sales from the evening support the Senior Class Post Prom. Please check back to see how you can help and for further information on the game itself. We hope you'll be able to come watch and support our senior class!

Senior Class Fashion Show:
The annual Senior Class Fashion Show will be held on Friday, April 5th. Sign-up’s for seniors will be held in the Senior Lounge in early March. All proceeds of this event will benefit the 2013 Post Prom. If interested in helping out please contact our chair, Linda Bartolucci linda@inkstampandscrap.com
Ongoing Activities
THS Spirit Wear:
The PTSA offers a great assortment of THS Spirit Wear.Please view the online order form for hoodies, sweatpants, fleece jackets and other items for all students, parents, and staff.
Seniors: T-shirts with the names of the Class of 2013 are on sale now! Please fill out the order form and return ASAP.

Afterschool Snacks:
The PTSA offers a variety of snacks to sell to our students after school each Monday-Thursday, prior to their sporting and club events. We are looking for two volunteers per day (2:10-2:50 pm) and hoping you can help one or two days a month. Volunteers are desperately needed in order to continue offering this program.

TPSLD:
Trumbull Parents of Students with Learning Differences (TPSLD) is a town-wide parent support group under Trumbull PTA Council, an affiliate of the National PTA. TPSLD is a group that offers resources and information specializing in children with and without special needs.
TPSLD hosts free workshops for parents, caregivers, students, teachers, specialists, and paraprofessionals throughout the academic year. Workshops are held at the Long Hill Administration Building, 6254 Main St., Trumbull, CT at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served. - ACT Practice Test: Saturday, March 23, 8:00 am-12:00 pm (snow date 3/30)
- Teacher Appreciation Breakfast/Luncheon: May 7th Breakfast & May 9th Luncheon
- Post Prom: Friday, June 7th – Saturday, June 8th

20012-2013 Meeting Dates
- Stay involved! Please join us to hear what’s going on at THS and find out the latest information from our Principal, Dr. Tremaglio, his staff, our committee chairs and guest speakers. Students are encouraged to join the PTSA and attend the meetings to voice their opinions and to give feedback on school and PTSA events.
