Athletics Goals
Athletic Goals and Objectives: The ultimate goal of athletics is to see each participant become an effective citizen in a competitive, democratic society through the accomplishment of specific objectives.
1. Learn teamwork - develop self-discipline, respect for authority, and the spirit of hard work; place the team and its objectives higher than personal desires.
2. Strive for success - learn to accept defeat by striving to win with earnest dedication; develop a desire to excel to the best of one's ability.
3. Display good sportsmanship - learn to treat others as one would wish to be treated by developing emotional control, honesty, cooperation, and dependability.
4. Enjoy athletics - acknowledge the personal awards derived from sports and give sufficiently of self in order to preserve and improve the athletic program
When a student decides to participate in an athletic sport, the following needs followed:

THE FIRST STEP
1. Student reports to the Athletic Office to obtain a student-athlete folder and signs for it.
2. Student and parent/guardian read the information on the folder and then the parent/guardian and the student sign the enclosed Parent Permission Form.This form is on page 9 of the Interscholastic Sports Policy.
3. Parent/guardian and student make an appointment with a physician who completes and signs the Medical Authorization Form enclosed in the folder. Parent/guardian also signs this form.
4. Student gives the signed forms to the coach at the first practice session the student attends. Both forms must be on file before a student can participate in tryouts.
