Who We Are
Trumbull Special Education and Preschool Inclusion Program
We are a Trumbull Connecticut Public School early intervention program for
three to five year old children. Our program provides a developmentally
appropriate preschool education for children with and without identified
special needs. The children interact, play, learn and grow together.
Our Staff
Trumbull Special Education and Preschool Inclusion Program (PIP) and SRP programs are taught by teachers dually certified in early childhood and special education, who are supported by a transdisciplinary team. Other members of the team are the nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech/language pathologist, social worker and school psychologist. Each class is supported by trained paraprofessionals. All preschool programs are overseen by the Trumbull Preschool Administrator.
Entrance Criteria
To be placed in the Special Education Preschool, three and four year olds are assessed and found eligible for special education. An Individual Educational Plan is developed for implementation. Inquiries about this program may be made to the Child Find team at 1-203-452-4352. For further information please go to the Trumbull Public School Website.
To be included as a peer playmate in the PIP program, children must be three or four years old. They are screened to see if they demonstrate age appropriate skills.
