TECEC PTO MEETING
Monday, May 3, 2010
The meeting began at 7pm and adjourned at 8:00pm
Old Business
Tricia Brown went over the treasurer’s report. The PTO bank account will be moved to TD bank at the end of the school year. A motion was made and passed to purchase a rock climbing wall for the school.
New Business
Dawn Tamorria spoke about nominations for the upcoming PTO board election. All positions on the board will be open. Voting will take place at the June meeting. Dawn also spoke about the ice cream social. It will be held on Thursday, June 10th from 6 – 8pm at Madison Middle School. Miss Gabby will be the entertainment. This event is open to all students as well as incoming students for the 2010-2011 year.
Becky Rizzo spoke about the teacher scrapbooks. More information will follow and a flyer will be sent home.
Meredith Chamberlain discussed the teacher appreciation luncheon which will be held on May 7th. People have generously donated to help fund the luncheon.
Jennifer Larsen-Neumann spoke about the up-keep of the library. She is asking for volunteers to come to the school on Wednesday, May 26th at 7pm to help clean up and to re-do the books on the shelves.
Tricia Brown also spoke about an upcoming enrichment program. Students from Stamford High School will perform “The Kids on the Block Puppet Show”. The performance will take place on May 18th.
Matt Wheeler spoke about the following:
- the upcoming budget meeting
- no child left behind
- the next edition of the newsletter is in process
- the sign for the school from the Fathers Club should be completed in a couple of weeks
- he also asked that for the safety of the children, parents please refrain from using cell phones while picking children up and please put your car in park.
- The Olympics will take place on May 19th and the rain date is May 20th.
The next meeting of the PTO will be held on Monday, June 7th
