President's Note

The New Year greets us with the promise of both ongoing satisfactions and difficult challenges. While the great majority of our students are enthusiastic about the worlds we open with them, larger political and economic forces threaten to restrict the resources available to us.
We met with the new First Selectman, Tim Herbst, John Ponzio, the Town Treasurer, Sue Burr Monaco, the Town Clerk, Ralph and Gary Cialfi, and the TAA reps to discuss many important concerns and issues that the town of Trumbull is facing. We plan to have follow-up meetings throughout the year.
To begin, Tim spoke highly of all Trumbull teachers, faculty and staff. He said he is supportive of Trumbull Education and will do the best he can for the students of Trumbull. However, there are budget deficits in every direction. Mr. Herbst is seeking our input. He is asking that we work together during this unfortunate financial climate.
We will keep you informed and seek your advice and opinion if the TEA needs to make any changes in our contractual agreement with the Board of Education. Please know that we are in complete support of ALL of you and will continue to be strong voices for all of you.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask your building rep or us.
Regards,
Roger and Tammy
