TEA Presidents
President's Note

Welcome back. We enter this year somewhat daunted by the ongoing fiscal difficulties our country, state and town face but greatly encouraged by the energy and enthusiasm so many teachers are showing in becoming and remaining active in the union. We have a good balance of fresh and veteran (not to say old!) teachers on our Executive Board, our Building Representative Council, and even as presidents. We have seen an impressive amount of effort from ExBd members and building reps to help teachers at all levels do their jobs effectively.
We would like to encourage each of you to consider joining our preparations from next summer's contract negotiation as a member of the Personnel Policies Committee. This committee will form in December, meet once or twice a month until the end of May, and provide the basis of the positions our negotiating team will take into talks with the BOard of Education. Let Tammy , me or PPC-chair Kathy Stevens know if you are interested.
Finally, we cannot emphasize strongly enough how important it is for those of you who live in Trumbull to vote in this November's election. The results of the election will influence Board policies, capital expenditures,m and school budgets during these difficult times and well beyond.
Have a wonderful year.
Roger and Tammy
