Summer Enrichment

The summer months have opportunities for learning to continue. First, all students, are required to read 2 books over the summer. In addition, Trumbull participates in the annual “Governor’s Summer Reading Challenge.” This "Chalenge" is designed to encourage children to read books during the summer, at home and at their public library. Since the “Governor’s Summer Reading Challenge” was initiated in 1996, Connecticut school children have read more than 5 million books. Last year, students statewide read more than 841,000 books!

A suggested reading list is posted in June of each year.

The Math Department puts together grade level appropriate packets for the students to work on. Included are the answers so that you can check the work! Also listed are numerous web links for fun and useful math websites.

Don't forget to check out the book from Continuing Education. Every summer they sponsor the "Summer Explorations." Courses offered range from credit bearing high school courses to fun and enriching "camps" for the students. The course listings are published in May. You may register up until the start of the course - or until the course is filled. Courses that do not get a minimum number registered within a week of starting will be cancelled.
