MMS Clubs
Madison has many after school clubs for students to become involved in. These are open to all students. Late buses are provided for most activities to promote involvement. All students must obtain a permission form the first day they take part in the club and have their parents sign and return it.

ANIME MANGA CLUB |
A club for students who are interested in Japanese animation. Scheduled meetings are on the Daily Notice. |

For students interested in learning how to operate AV equipment for after-school functions. |

BIO-TECH CLUB |
Students will become familiar with Trumbull Bio-technical School located on Trumbull High School campus. |

Book Café |
Students, by grade level, meet during lunch once a month to discuss their favorite books. |

Broadway Babies |
Auditions are held (usually in October or November) for a play that is performed in the spring. |

Chamber Strings |
A select group that meets once a week after school. |

Cultural Diversity Club |
This group of 6 th, 7 th, and 8 th graders will meet one or two times a month to plan and discuss how to celebrate the many different cultures representing Madison. |

Dog Club |
This is a great club for dog-lovers- meets most Wednesdays after school. Starting in January |

Debate Club |
Students will learn skills of effective argument, using of supporting evidence, and the ability to recognize and understanding opposing view points. Students will compete in the spring. |

The club meets after school once a week November – March. |

Jazz Band |
The Jazz Band usually meets once a week after school. Auditions are held in September. Interested students should see Mr. Thornton.

Madison’s Service Club meets regularly during the year to plan activities for the less fortunate in the community.

Knowledge Masters |
Teams of students play against other middle school teams across the country in a Jeopardy-like game of knowledge. Students must attend practices after school before the fall and spring KMO. |

Latin Club |
Meets on certain Wednesdays for students interested in learning Latin. |

Students create a magazine with their own writing pieces |

Meet on Thursdays for students interested in tutoring their peers, if needed. |

Math Enrichment |
Throughout the year, several after-school math enrichment activities are offered (BAYER Solutions, MATHCOUNTS, etc.). Dates and times are announced a well in advance of the start of the activity. |

Rainforest Rescuers Club |
Meets on certain Wednesdays to discuss ways to help save endangered animals. |

Travel to the Mt. Southington ski area during the winter months. |

Sports Club |
Seasonal activities take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays after school. Late buses at 3:20 are provided. Students are notified via morning announcements what the upcoming activity is and when it begins. Students sign up in physical education classes and permission slips are given to them. Everyone is welcome to participate, but no one is allowed to play without a signed permission slip by a parent or guardian. |

Elections are held in September for representatives from grades 6, 7 & 8. They meet regularly after school to plan fundraiser, food drives, and dances for the school year.

Students will meet after school to learn about historical and current Constitutional issues so that they might testify as “experts” at a mock Congressional committee hearing in April in a competition with other middle schools. |
