	Join us for a shopping event at Blue Tulip to help raise funds for our ongoing Hillcrest Courtyard Renovation project! Friday, May 16th through Sunday, May 18th - All Day! Mention you’re shopping for HMS or bring in the flyer you received in your child's progress report and 15% of the proceeds from your purchase will be donated back to your local school. This is a great time to get a jump on those end-of-year gifts, graduation gifts, Father's Day, birthdays or some "just for fun items." 	WE NEED YOUR HELP!! We are very pleased to announce that 7th grader Nikhil Tasker from Mrs. Maffei's science class was recently chosen by the Weatherbug panel of judges for having the best science safety post in the State of Connecticut. His poster was selected for creativity and illustration of sun safety rules. We congratulate Nikhil for a job well done and Mrs. Maffei for encouraging her science students to take a step beyond the classroom. Now we need your help. Please go on line http://www.shadefoundation.org/posters and select his poster #40 so that he will receive the most in-line votes by the end of May and be selected as the grand prize winner. This will allow our school to receive other weather tracking software. We thank you for your help and once again congratulations to Nikhil.

	We are asking your support to please not contact your child during school hours through their cell phones. Text messaging or calling them disturbs the instruction for your child and the class. You can always call the office at 452-4466 and we will get your child a message. Thank you.
	Catch the Hillcrest Weatherbug...It's the only safe bug on the Net! The Weather Bug Achieve Program has links to many exciting tools and adventures that are multidisciplinary in nature. There are math applications, social studies, and language arts as well as science. Click on this link and follow the steps for registration. When you get to the question that asks for the school key code, enter: 4231-54349332 When you go to data from the school, we are currently not yet back online (the equipment has been replaced and we should be back up and running soon) so just choose a nearby school - you will be given several choices. Try it, you'll like it!
