The
Hillcrest PTA General Meeting is re-rescheduled for Tuesday, February 23rd.
First Selectman Tim Herbst will be our Guest Speaker. The PTA Meeting starts
at 7:15 pm (new time) in the Media Center at Hillcrest Middle School.
Mr.
Herbst will be discussing important BOE issues. Please plan to attend this informative
meeting! (We apologize for the need to change date again. There is a town BOF

Across America Day at Hillcrest Middle School on Friday, February 26th
Parent Volunteers needed! Spend some time reading with your child, this is
one of the few opportunities to do so at the middle school level!
This
year's theme will be "Reading Roundup". The students will spend the
day involved in many different activities while making their reading connections.
There will also be a Reading Station set up in the front entrance. Small
groups of students will meet throughout the day to read and discuss sections of
various books - again centered around our theme "Reading Roundoup".
Along with a staff member, we will need a total of 9 parents to help
with the Reading Station - 1 parent per period and 3 during the longer period
5 shift. The tentative schedule is as follows:
Period 1 7:45-8:31 (grade
6) Period 2 8:35-9:21 (grade 6) Period 3 9:25-10:11 (grade 6) Period
4 10:15-11:01 (grade 7) Period 5 11:05-11:35; 11:39-12:09; 12:12-12:42 (grade
7) Period 6 12:46-1:32 (8th grade) Period 7 1:36-2:22 (8th grade)

from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., the Hillcrest Middle School World Language Department
will sponsor its annual "Cultural Café" in the Hillcrest
Cafetorium. We cordially invite students and their families to join us for dinner
that evening and enjoy a buffet of international cuisine...more
